How To Create Racism Richard
W. Friesen June 10, 2024
When thinking about a problem, I sometimes ask myself how I can INCREASE the problem. This clarifies what NOT to do. I put forth this “How to” article as the first in a series to jolt us out of cognitive “numbness” and think critically.
Racism has been a major destructive impulse of our human condition. The tendency to distrust “others” is built into our evolutionary tribal neurology. Civilizing influences of law, cooperation, self-regulation, and higher levels of morality mitigate our survival mechanisms with behaviors that support respect for the dignity and integrity of every individual.
Western civilization appeals to our highest self. The United States has moved from the worst form of racism when slavery was legal followed by the intentional limitations of civil rights. Racism clung on with a more subtle form of racial prejudice and behaviors. More recently however we have enjoyed expanding opportunities for everyone from all races and ethnic backgrounds. This progress has been painfully slow and bumpy but steady over longer time frames. What Western civilization does best is create boundaries and guardrails for our more baser impulses.
Something is very wrong. Our political culture is not only abandoning the guardrails for our baser behaviors but is actively promoting and supporting a return to the racism we all abhor. We may never know if these behaviors are intentionally fueling racism or naively producing unintended consequences. Either way, they are opening the gates to our primitive tribal survival mechanisms.
Here is my list of ideas to create more racism. If any one or more makes sense to you, ask yourself the following question. “Who promotes these activities, legislation, and mindsets and why?”
- Reparations: Force whites/asians to pay blacks for historic inhumane treatment. Follow up with “It wasn’t enough” and demand for more. Creates conscious and subconscious resentment in non-blacks. It triggers our innate biological need for fairness. Blacks and unfairness are coupled together with the same emotional response.
- Create a “White Violence” belief: Create media hysteria and hypersensitive to all violent actions by whites (Cops) against blacks and call it systemic racism. Blacks imbed the experience of white violence that triggers their survival mechanism and justifies retaliation.
- DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion): Give preference based on skin color. The demand on the pool of non-white candidates may exceed the available talent and require lower standards. The conscious and subconscious reframe of “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” is “Didn’t Earn It.” Whenever there is a mistake, and a black is involved, the brain will make a racist connection even when unfounded.
- Intentional Educational Failure: Keep blacks in failing schools. Eliminate hope for a valuable education. Stop charter schools. Then blame systemic racism for outcome disparity. Whites see failed blacks in inner cities and subconsciously blame them based on the color of their skin and character. Not fair, but that is the impact.
- Install Victimhood: Most media, governments, and NGOs assume that minority problems are rooted in racism. Install a victim, hopeless mentality in non-whites which reduces resilience and perseverance. Whites see large segments of the black population as failures because of a victimhood mindset instead of taking responsibility for their outcomes. “We know what works. Just do it!” Creates disdain.
- Videos of black violence: Show videos on social media of black violence, mass organized store theft, and innocent non-blacks being assaulted. Even if this activity is a tiny fraction of minority behavior, the video images will capture the brain and memory and become embedded in the limbic survival brain.
- Tax Whites for minority Social Services: Whites see illegal immigrants and blacks receiving social services without working when they have a hard time paying their bills. Raise taxes on success and subsidize failure. This creates resentment that builds with time and financial challenges.
- Equity over Equality: Measure outcomes, not effort, education, skills, and talent to determine fairness. Those who understand life’s challenges and what it takes to create an abundant life will see “equity” as another slap in their face and increase resentment.
- Teach Guilt: Teach racial guilt to whites. Whites are guilty because of their skin color, not beliefs or behaviors. When someone feels guilty, this may also cover conscious or subconscious anger, creating a cycle of guilt, anger, and more guilt.
- Reduce crime consequences / no bail: Since a minority of offenders commit most crimes, allow these repeat offenders out pending trial. Show videos of blacks looting, burning, and violence. Whites will see black repeat offenders committing violent crimes with little or no judicial consequences. They may take justice into their own hands.
- Cops are racist: Exaggerate cop killing incidents. (there are very few, but most people don’t know that) Make up statistics. Defund the police. Keep blacks antagonistic to cops. Black crime soars. Non-blacks feel threatened by racial makeup.
- News identifies blacks as victims only: News identifies the race of victims if they are black but not when they are perpetrators. Keep black people as victims of white racism to stoke anger and retaliation.
- Destroy the black nuclear family: Statistically, strong families create successful people. Fatherless homes can contribute to a hopeless generation. Expand systems that discourage minority families such as social support that comes with marriage penalties. Lock black children in unsafe and ineffective educational systems. Create expensive occupational licensing. By keeping blacks in a poverty cycle, whites can assume black inferiority.
- Encourage black (BLM) riots: Allow black riots to grow without consequences with violence and billions of dollars of destruction. Whites see black riots, burning buildings, and organized looting. These images are burned into the survival brain creating fear and loathing.
- Disasters with Blacks: When disasters are caused by human error and the media shows a black face, whites will create the assumption of a DEI hire. This assumption, even when not true, creates resentment and perception that reinforces racist thoughts.
- Raise the minimum wage: Raising the minimum wage incentivizes automation and reduces starter jobs. Taking away the first rung of employment creates a feeling of hopelessness among minorities and justifies racial activity.
